Fifty years ago employment was a lot more different to what it is now, because fifty years ago there wasn’t much employment. So any job they could get was a bargain if you didn’t like the job, your family would starve. More than six hundred people would line up out the front of the ford factory and it was kind of a lucky dip. Because one person would come out and pick someone and even if it was for one day only that would be enough money for the week. In the Olden days, most men would work sailing, delivering milk or in a factory.
